Boiler Servicing
A boiler service is a yearly check that the boiler is burning gas safely and efficiently. Most manufacturers, Worcester Bosch included, ask for one every year to keep the guarantee valid, so it is worth booking around the same time each year.
What Peter checks
- The casing, seals and flue are sound and the flue terminal is clear
- Flue gas analysis to confirm the boiler is burning safely
- Gas pressure and burner operation
- The condensate trap, cleaned where needed
- System pressure, the expansion vessel and the pressure relief valve
- Controls, thermostat and any magnetic filter, which is emptied and cleaned
You get a written service record at the end of the visit to keep with the boiler paperwork.
If something is found
If the service shows a part is wearing or a fault is starting, Peter will explain it and price the fix before doing any extra work; that becomes a boiler repair. If the boiler is near the end of its life, he can price a replacement through boiler installation. Landlords who need the yearly certificate should see landlord gas safety certificates.
